Zip Code ReportData sources & attribution
Every figure in a Zip Code Report is labeled with its source and vintage in the section where it appears. This page collects the attribution and license notices our sources require, and says plainly what each source is — and is not.
Government sources
US Census Bureau (American Community Survey, County Business Patterns, TIGER/Line, Gazetteer) · Bureau of Labor Statistics · FBI Crime Data Explorer · FEMA National Risk Index · NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information · US Geological Survey · Environmental Protection Agency · Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services · National Center for Education Statistics · Bureau of Economic Analysis · Department of Housing and Urban Development · National Park Service. These are US Government works and carry no attribution requirement; we name them anyway so any number can be traced back.
Overture Maps Places
The everyday-amenity places in the Full Report — their names, categories and locations — come from Overture Maps Foundation, used under the Community Data License Agreement – Permissive – Version 2.0. The exact release is named in that section's source line.
Foursquare OS Places notice
Part of the Overture Places dataset is contributed by Foursquare Labs, Inc. under the Apache License, Version 2.0, which requires us to preserve the full content of its notice. It follows verbatim:

Our changes to the Data:we select places by category and by distance from a ZIP code's center, and we hide a place when another place of the same name sits within 100 metres of it. Names, categories and coordinates are otherwise unmodified.

What these sources are not
Walkability figures are a walkability index, not affiliated with any trademarked scoring product. Housing values from the American Community Survey are Census estimates, not market appraisals. Amenity counts describe points of interest known to a map dataset — they are not an official register of businesses.
